Steve's expertise and experience spans five countries and almost three decades. After completing an apprenticeship in London, England in 1972, Steve worked in Scotland, France, Belgium and Germany. In the early 80's, the Scunthorpe, England native came to Canada to study North American cooking methods, landing in Digby, Nova Scotia. There he began to apply his talents to the Canadian Hotel Industry. After receiving landed immigrant status he was then able to apply his craft in many areas of this country. Steve was host chef to former American President Bill Clinton at the Halifax G7 Summit and was recently part of the Canadian Culinary Team, opening the newly renovated Canada House in London, England. Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, the Duke of Edinburgh, and the Prime Minister of Canada, Jean Chrétien, attended the State Dinner following the official opening.

In July of 1999, Chef Watson joined the Farmers Dairy/ Central Dairies Sales and Marketing team as a Food Service Representative and Executive Chef, where he continues to bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the dairy industry. This, combined with his unique talents, has enabled him to create his own niche in the Maritime community. He is seen regularly on CTV Canada AM, ASN Breakfast Television and in Newfoundland on NL NTV & CBC regal. With extracurricular activities as diverse as his talents, Steve provides both culinary and ice carving demonstrations, hosts a daily radio show on nutrition and health, and gives instructional cooking classes. As well, he has made many high-profile appearances to discuss and prepare special culinary dishes – becoming a highly sought after Master of Ceremonies and Guest Speaker.

Throughout the region, Steve volunteers and participates on a number of Boards and Foundations including, the Rennies River Foundation, School Lunch Association, The Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation, and the scouting movement. Steve is a firm believer in his community and likes to "shout it out loud" whenever he gets a chance, as he is also the Town Crier for the City of Mount Pearl.
